04 May 2005 - New Gigs
THIS WEEKEND!!!! |
This weekend Dead Monroe
are playing not one but two gigs!
After months of lethergy Dead Monroe (formerly the Bookoo Movement
for all
you traditionalists) finally got off their arses and played on bank
holiday
Monday. And from that stella performance (in both the cosmic and the
liquid
senses) they were 'spotted' and offered two more cracking shows.
Yes, gigs
are like busses - smelly and dingey. But you get a good view.
We are giving out FREE CDs at these gigs, so come along and get a
demo. And
hear our live-only cover of T-Rex's 'Children of the Revolution'
too.
Notice is short, and that's just tough.
FRIDAY 6 MAY
The Marquee Club, Leicester Square (a swankey venue)
1 Leicester Square, London, WC2H 7NA
On stage at 9pm
If you are coming to this show email your name and we'll put you on
a £3
admission list (half price)
SATURDAY 7 MAY
The Horn, Victoria St, St. Albans, Herts. 01727 844627
Next to St. Albans Station - 18 mins from St. Pancras
On stage midnight
WE'RE HEADLINING THIS SHOW, so we've got to find 45mins of material.
£6, but £5 if we can import this weird list system from the Marquee,
so
email if you wanna come.
Plenty of new pics to be on the website very soon. There's a free
MP3 of
Plastic England on there for you to download. Listen to it and leave
a
message on the guestbook!

www.deadmonroe.com is launched! Brand new site and name
for the band is revealed to the world wide web. Welcome to
deadmonroe.com, bookmark this site to keep up-to-date with the
latest Dead Monroe news. Join the mailing list to receive regular
updates on gigs and news and sign the new guestbook to let us know
what you think.
This site will be
maintained a lot more frequently than the last one so keep
logging-in or risk missing-out. There's already stuff we still need
to add, so keep your eyes and ears peeled.
Dead Monroe also have a
new gig date to announce. They will be supporting
Security at the
Monarch, Camden on Wednesday 16th June.
Security
are the new rock project of Jay Butler and Ritch Battersby (both of
Grand Theft Audio fame), credential enough to pretty much guarantee an
awesome night of rock.
Also playing are
Planet Of Women,
a very entertaining trio of rock chicks that complete what looks to
be a fuckin' good gig.
